Effective Interpersonal Communications
Last month, we introduced a new "Cultural Sensitivity" workshop designed to help senior executives improve their communication effectiveness with their international clientele. In this newsletter, we're going to introduce another new workshop program: Effective Interpersonal Communications.
Life is about relationships. Relationships are built on rapport - which are developed through communication, commonality and connection. Successful sales people knows that personal rapport is often more important than the product/service and price.
When we're involved with interpersonal communications, 55% of what we communicate is conveyed through our bodies, 38% through tonality and only 7% through the words themselves. Most of us don’t fully understand how we're actually coming across to other people and how we're being perceived. Yet with this knowledge, comes the power of effectiveness.
In our new program, we're using the Forte® Communication Style Profile to provide participants with this baseline information. Through small and larger group exercises, participant learns how they can adapt their styles and get accurate feedback on how they are coming across. At the end of the workshop, each participant has new skills to practice, and ideas for changing the nature of their interactions in order to be more effective. At the end of 30 days, participants take the assessment again to see whether the changes they made had the desired impact.
